Honestly, I wasn’t so great at keeping up on my diary for the second half of the trip. I was so good in Cairo, but much of the second half of my diary was written when I got home. Luckily it was still fresh in my mind. Thursday, November 19: When you have an action-packed two week vacation, I know not every day can be magical. Today was a non-magical day (except for the awesome camel ride)

I just returned from a wonderful two week journey in Egypt with Jay, my Mom and Dad, and my brother, Kevin. I kept a diary during the trip, which I’ll share in a few installments, as well as my tips for planning a trip to Egypt. Sunday, November 14: I’ll never understand why some women travel in tight pencil skirts and stiletto high heels. Obviously, it is not comfortable.

I’ve decided that the first dances at the reception are my favorite part of a wedding. It’s the part the makes me feel all mushy and girly inside. I always think back to my own wedding and my heart melts a little. The nervousness from dancing in front of so many people seems to melt away quickly for most newlyweds as they get lost in each other in a special moment truly made just for them.

I honestly never knew natural water could be these colors: so blue, turquoise, and teal. And it is also so clear; I can see the duck’s feet swimming! Usually, I’d be happy to hike an hour just to see one waterfall, and here I see a new one around every corner. I start to think about the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen

A couple of weeks ago, Kelly and I made our first excursion outside of Split – we took a weekend vacation (two days, one night) to the Croatian island of Brac. Croatia has hundreds of islands along its western coastline. Many of these islands are very small and uninhabited, but there are also some large islands with
